Biography

Hello there,
My name is Carl Anders Sven Hultin and that's why I sign my artworks with my initials by " C A S H " .
My parents, who are from Sweden and Zimbabwe always told me it's coincidence. Amazing right?!
Anyways I was born in Stockholm and I grew up mostly in Brussels, Belgium.
So I'm one of those third culture persons and I currently live between both cities.
I'm fluent in English and French and my Swedish is a bit more rusty.
So long story short, I'm a self-taught artist. I've been drawing ever since I can remember but it's only in 2009 that I decided to take this seriously.
So how did I start my professional journey? Simple! By trying to participate and organize as many exhibitions as I could to showcase my artwork.
I began I remember with paper drawings portraits of my friends who would do live band shows and palette knives portraits of individuals I admired.
Slowly I started challenging myself by using different tools such as ballpoint pens, after that came more traditional items like brushes and eventually during some of my trips I just felt like using the coloring markers that reminded me of my childhood (so much easier to carry around). But that's only half the story, I still had all these mediums to explore, so I went on by not limiting myself and just trying out different ideas; cardboard, canvas, paper, textile fabrics, wood, walls and even metal. This will probably just continue as time goes by.
Today I consider myself as a Visual Artist in every aspect.
Follow me and you'll see for yourself.
PS: You shouldn't be too surprised if I do something different from what you discovered me through, artist like to recycle themself.
