This is a performance I did during an event called "Afropean Plus" hosted in the BOZAR (Le Musée Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles). It celebrated the double culture of being African in Belgian (mostly concerning their ex colonial lands such as Congo DRC, Rwanda and Burundi). So in that context, I chose to illustrate the head of states of Belgium and Congo but putting them next to each and having that topic discussed as it feels very taboo. To my great surprised this was a very big success. As much as for the children, the adults and the elders. I hope I'll get the opportunity to do something similar again as getting a direct response from the public is probably the best feeling you can experience as an artist.

 Once upon a time : 75 cm x 115 cm This is a painting I made especially for my oldest brother, Noel that I don't see so often just as reminder to him that we are with united no matter the distance. It's based from a very old picture of us when I was a new baby born in Lidingö, Stockholm, Sweden.
 75 cm x 115 cm A was going by my life calmy when one day a lady, close in age to my mom came up to me telling me she knew I painted and so just told me the story of her relationship with her mother and the story got to me.
This is the mother of the lady that came up to me. I'll keep it anonymous for her own sake and by so named this piece "Mama Cameroun" 🇨🇲 #mamacameroun #africanstory NORTH HILL is the brand of friends of mine from Paris.

For transportation reasons we decided to frame it in the house, the frame was also made by me. Thank you Anna for the trust.  So people sometimes wonder if they don't know me from somewhere randomly in the streets.
It's very often because they saw this commercial on tv. It's a jingle meaning it's the commercial of a commercial, so I guess if you live in Belgium and you're a French speaker, there is a very high chance of you seeing me on this channel. Anyways I had fun shooting it so that's what matters most. Stay tuned.
So these are the portraits of the ladies that showed me around during my trip in New York city, it all started thanks to one of my friends John who introduced me to Grace Gibson, who we met her in Paris. Later on she invited us to visit her in NYC and we decided to see how things were over there. So we went and it was an eye opener for me personally, something magical about the Big Apple. The culture is so different over there, I was very surprised more then once especially about the African American culture, that I basically only knew through movies. I basically started painting more and more during my stay.
